I had heard that Chuck Norris was a fundamentalist creationist, but he also writes a column denouncing anyone who speaks out against religious ideas.

He and his wife Gena are on the board of the National Council of Bible Curriculum in Public Schools.

He's apparently fallen into revisionist ideas of American history thinking that we were not founded as a secular society.
Chuck Norris is a fundamentalist nut case who would love to throw freedom of religion out the window and establish the USA as a Christian theocracy.

Well then, perhaps you'll enjoy seeing Chuck get the proverbial shit kicked out him:

I just went there and read the Norris piece.
Now I'm going to take a bath and have my computer steam cleaned.

I think Chucky must have been kicked in the head a few too many times. I hate to break the news to him, but in America the right wing religious nuts are the ones doing everything to force their beliefs on today's youth. I've never met an atheist who tried to force his or her non-belief on anyone. In fact, most of us would be fine if the fundies would just quit trying to force their beliefs down everyone's throats.

From Chucky;
"The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no god.'"
Guess he forgot the rest
"The wise man shouts it from the rooftops."
Saw the finishing quote at some other site and swore I would remember it.

Damn, that's good. Do you know to whom it is atributed?

This is the best I can do. From Pesky Atheist at national meetups atheist board. Here is his post that has some great links. Maybe this should be at the thread asking what to do about the witnessing pests.
Being an athiest in a largely Christian region (which isn't surprising given Yale's here, they started up because they felt Harvard was too liberal), on revealing this fact to others, I'm often responded to with varying degrees of hostility, from a simple "Oh, ok..." (usually almost saddly, as if they feel bad for my wasted life not in the glory of some narcissistic god) to me actually being stabbed once (that was fun). And I'm sure many of you encounter similiar things (especially living in the south... or Utah.) and I was just wondering how you respond, usually, to the myriad of responses; do you bother to try to explain your lack of belief? Give up on them as wilflul ignorants (I consider willful ignorance the worst thing in the world by far)? Ignore them completely?
Oh, and creative answers to "You're going to hell" this is the most common response by far, especially by the uneducated (or highly educated, Yale ftw.) While "I don't believe in hell" always works, it's not got a lot of zing to it, and I'm looking for some fun here. Maybe "See you there!" and give a devil laugH? Ah? Ah, go on then, post away.If you act timid -- they'll attempt to intimidate you. You'll get a laugh out of this: http://www.iamanathei... (http://www.iamanatheist.com/arguments.html) and this: http://www.jhuger.com... (http://www.jhuger.com/kisshank.php) and this: http://video.google.c...
One of my favorite responses when somebody says to me "Jesus LOVES you!" is "Gee whiz, thanks, that's 'nice' -- but the next time you talk to JC Superstar you tell him for me that I'm saving myself for the Easter Bunny!"
It's good to keep this quote in mind (or on a t-shirt):
