It's been a bit slow lately.. Does anyone have any ideas of how to attract more people? :P Stumbleupon used to work really well, but, lately it seems like it's not been sending as many visitors. So, does anyone know of any other good ways to let people know that gnawed.com exists? :)

kind of intresting that it's so slow when I read the most on line in one day was 330. Is that a correct stat? I try to drop by daily and say my piece. Some days I get too busy. I promised to add you to our web pages but I have to say that doesn't get much traffic. Have you announced your existance on IIDB? They'll chastise you for self promotion, but, like myself, somebody is likely to trondle over. Many have been fed up with the heavy handed moderation there as of late.
I'll also add your link to my weekly newsletter to Utah Atheists. That goes out to 230 members weekly. We might snag a bit of interest from that. We'll see.

Yes.. that's an accurate statistic. I had that many on at one time; they were from Stumbleupon. No idea how to replicate that though! :P

I will throw this out and watch for the eyes to roll, but what about posting a message on YouTube? I know there is significant atheist activity there. I will continue to pass along the site to my friends.

Although, at least you have some idea of how it happened to replicate it. On my tiny forum I once had 176 people online, at a time when no member had been online for over a month, and I have no idea where on Earth the people came from.

I've added you to our site (http://www.atheistsofutah.org/doku.php?id=links&DokuWiki=0c5278bfe240fb68fc60a49f2409fd4f), but like I say, it's been pretty slow there as well.

Added a link to my blog.
My other thought was digg, but you already have the "Digg This" button.

I'm starting to see some tumbleweeds blowing through... I'm not quite sure WHY it is so slow though; anyone have any ideas they can share?
:(

I don't see a button, but if I did, I'd click it. Is there a button for the whole site, as opposed to a particular post? If so, can you make it bigger or something? :o

I think this is a great idea actually. If anyone saw my post (http://gnawed.com/showpost.php?p=1819&postcount=12) in the peanut butter thread, we could put gnawed.com all over some "Christian's Nightmare" short films and draw interest through that. I bet some other creative, intelligent, atheist minds around here can come up with more ideas for informative and/or humorous movies and we can put the URL/logo in the corner and/or at the end.

Maybe I should remove the prank picture of my ex in the "Get out of hell free" thread. It is scary.
I came here from the meetup atheist board on the advice of Grumpy. I suppose I could recommend at my local meetup message board. But it might be a week for any sees it. I think it must be populated with mimes or something. If my ideas to boost membership are anything like my stock market picking ability you will probably be shutdown by the thugs at the FCC.
I'll think it over. I just think that the weather be nice and people be outside. The Physics forum be stoned or something too over the weekend. Not much there either. Getting the most action from my email Bible thumper predicting doom within 20 years.
Well at least he don't want to raise my taxes.
Just keeps telling me how great his path is.
By joining his gymn I'll be singin' his hymns,
but ignoring the way that the facts is.
He made fun of my poetry too. No accountin' for taste. No. No. Don't offer. Dat be a free bee.

You might try restraining yourself from pissing on new members on their first posts.

Funny you should bring up the pissing thing. I too am not sure what the Digg stuff is all about. I can't get the tab to indent paragraphs. But back to my thought. You bring back a saying I heard in court. "I've always made it a policy never to get into a pissing contest with a skunk." My father and I had been in court where his friend, a little old man attorney, was being attacked vociferously by his opponent. The judge then asked Miles if he didn't have some kind of response. This little old man came up with the quote. The judge and those in attendance laughed out loud.
