Last night, we had a storm here in Minneapolis. The tree next to my driveway split and half of it fell right between the two cars there. I've spent the morning sawing branches enough to pull my car out. Just minor damage, but it messes up my weekend.

Good thing it was just minor damage. Gonna claim it on your insurance?

Right. We already called them this morning. There must be a lot of claims being made due to the storm. We had to wait on hold for a long time.

Here are some pics. We had a second storm, and I've been without power for a couple of days. No interenet - ugh.
My car is the convertible. My wife drives the minivan.

Ugh.. That sucks.. No internet -- I'm not sure how you handled it..
Actually, for us, the biggest issue would be no A/C! It's over 100F for the last day or two! yuck..

Got news for you, Dr. Rabbi :) It's hot all over. And this week, nationwide, the temps are cooler than they've been the past few weeks. We ship coast-to-coast and temperatures are a major factor in the desicion of whether or not to ship. The heat has made it rough on us lately.

So ... is the insurance company going to pass it off as an act of God?

This has actually worked out nicely for us. The insurance paid out $1900 on several small dents on the van, which we will not repair. My deductible is $250, so we made $1650 from the storm. This is nice because, my wife is a school teacher and has this month off.

Good to see you're profiting from a storm. It kinda makes you want MORE trees to fall on your car! :deal:

So Gawwwwwd new you needed the money and blessed you by creating a storm that he new would give your car $1900 dollars worth of damage that he knew you wouldn't really need to fix and thusly would pocket $1650 after your deductible... Praise Gawwwwwwd!!! :D
