I don't think I, as an atheist, need to be "saved" from anything, especially from an eternity in hell. But then again, I was raised a Christian, a Southern Baptist, and I was, indeed, "born again", and I was duly baptised into Jesus's church - I became a "bride of Christ", and was, for some years, "on fire for God". But some people believe "once saved, always saved", so what do y'all think, will I go to hell if I'm wrong, and the Bible's God really does exist? Should I be worried, or does my "born again" status still hold?

Well, the "once saved always saved" doctrine is as lacking in support as most christian beliefs.

Honestly, if the Bible's God exists, then his actions depend more on his mood than anything else. Compare the Father of Jesus to "I am I am" in Egypt; not much consistency between them.

According to the Bible you're no longer saved. You are a backslider. Sorry.

Sorry, but you must be forgiven for your sins before you can go vacationing in heaven. Plus, you must have god's kid in your heart. They should really have a check list for this shit.

I loved the video! I can imagine a christian kid going to bed at night in their cardboard box. "I love you mom & dad...you asses."

No, Jesus said to sell everything! That cardboard box needs to be sold too! Seriously, some people just pick and choose what to do...

i was raised southern baptist as well, and was always taught the "once saved, always saved" doctrine. as with just about any biblical doctrine, you can find scriptures to back up both sides of the argument. If it makes you feel any better, the "once saved, always saved" is my only backup plan :)
... and btw, i'm not overly concerned that i'll be relying on my backup plan...

:tee:

cheers.

Hey, you were a "Bride of Christ" but you've filed for divorce. I think you should sue for your half of the universe!

If he does our stance here at gnawed could be in trouble because we'll have a bona fide miracle on our hands. Johnnie passed away last year I think. :(
