I've been Atheist since 3 hours after conception. My folks were Mormon, temple wedding, the works. Alas, Dads never really believed. Story goes mom was pregnant with me the last time they went thru the temple, and did I ever kick! By the time I was a toddler, dad had renounced the church but as I grew up, he encouraged me to go to church, ANY church. "But," he would tell me, "Don't sign anything and for gawd sakes don't let 'em take you swimming!" I did just as he said, one summer attending a different church every Sunday. I'd come home and talk about the sermon with dad. He's ask me if it sounded plausible and he'd explain why he didn't believe. I have to say my father, the greatest man to walk the face of the earth, taught me HOW to believe, never WHAT to believe. An avid Atheist now in his 70's, we go to all the Atheist functions around town. Mom? Well I have to say she's a Deist now. Not a follower of the Mormons any more but not willing to give up the Ghost.
