Hello everyone who reads this and phrog who clued me in in his regular atheists of utah update. Thanks phrog. I'm a male, 53, married to a true blue mormon with 3 true blue mormon kids, the oldest of which is set to return from his mission impossible in November, the next oldest set to enter beewhywoo(BYU) next month and the youngest who is gonna be just like the other two I'm afraid. I'm an exmormon, exxian who's pretty well jaded with just about everything that has to do with modern society. The leaders, whether they are political(Ron Paul might not be), military or religious are all either insane or corrupt and insane, IMO. The vast majority of followers are like sheep. Here in deepest darkest Utah, I like to get up in the mountains, watch movies, read, although my reading skills have been degraded by too much internet, look at porn on the net, and get drunk . I'm pretty liberal, more libertarian actually, but I love guns and like to target shoot and reload in the basement. I have 7 indoor cats and 1 dog. I'm a blue collar truck driver, I could have attended BYU and studied medical technology, but one visit to the campus was too much for me. I became a working class hippy soon after that and wasted about ten years of my life. But I had some damn good times. I don't post much anymore, but I like to check in and see what other freethinkers are saying. Cheers!

I wouldn't necessarily call it wasting life if you enjoyed those years. I think that's the underlying feeling of most atheists. Enjoy the life that you have because it's the only one you get.

I'm just curious as to how being an ex-mormon has affected your family life with three future mormonites moving out into the world and a true blue mormon wife.

Anyway, welcome to the group.

Hey Bearlaker!

I'm so glad phrog turned you on to gnawed. You'll like it here, I think. I'm an ex-SDA so we have that fringe thing in common! Looking forward to chatting.

Hey Steelerman, we're basically OK as long as I don't try to dis their belief system. stan2reason, I probably still have a bunch of Herbert W. Armstrongs screeds in the basement somewhere, I'd forgotten about my infatuation with his BS. phrog, you da man! I know what you mean about the infidels board, I stopped paying attention to their tightly ran clique a long time ago.
