Anti-Christian Children's Novel Coming out as Film in December

I haven't read the novels, but maybe now I will (Like I have time to read kid's books!) From what I cleave from the article I would hope they have a sequal that holds true to the theme mentioned.

I'm reading The Golden Compass right now. I made a point of looking at Amazon reader reviews and chose to look specifically at the single star entries. Those that hated the books universally saw it as anti-Christian indoctrination and were highly offended that anyone would dare indoctrinate a child before their minds were mature. One thoughtful reader asked (and I'm paraphrasing), "isn't that exactly what you guys do when you teach your very young children about God?"

The responses pretty much trailed off after that.
