Hi, my name is Scot and I'm new here. I've been officially out as an atheist for about a month, but had been agnostic/atheist for most of my life. I became convinced last year that my belief system could not accomidate a god of any sort, so I did some research. I've read Hitchens, Dawkins, Harris and some Ingersoll to shore up my lack of beliefs. What I've read only confirmed what I always suspected... there is no proof of a god. And that one can have a great life and contribute to society without the belief in a Santa Clause of the cosmos.
Well anyway, I look forward to joining in on the conversations here!:)

I posted a brief explanation of why and how I came out, in the appropriate section. I forgot to mention that I found this site from another atheist message board. I can't remember where, but I'm glad to have found you folks!
