We have a fairly tall tree in the front yard, and, while my son was mowing the lawn, this albino squirrel fell out of the tree and injured itself. It could hardly move. The squirrel is not full grown, but not a baby either.
We took it to the humane society, and they thought it was treatable. So, they didn't put it down. They said we could call and check on him. My kids named him Casper.
I know, someone will say we should have just mowed right over it.

Albino "anything" is rare in the wild. That's quite a find. Did you Google "albino squirrel"? There's org's dedicated to them... like this: http://albinosquirrel.com/

Yeah, they're actually fairly common in my neighborhood. I guess because of the gene pool.

You don't intend me to believe that the squirrels are exhibiting changes based on a local DNA pool difference? lol
