Greetings!
I go by the handle Heathen57 or just Heathen. I came by the name when while arguing religion with my wife's aunt, she told me I was a hopeless heathen and would surely burn in hell. I thanked her for the compliment and the name stuck.
I am now disabled due to nerve damage and fibermalgya (sp) but I worked in many areas of construction as well as a service tech at a few call centers. The last place I worked (and the most interesting) was for the stagehand's union local. Meeting celebrities and setting up their shows was a great experience.
I started out Catholic (baptised) but after the death of my father when I was four, I started to question the church and religion in general. Most of what they wanted me to take on "faith" didn't make any sense and I gradually grew farther away from Christianity.
During my teens, I spend a long time with Native American holy men from two different tribes. I believe that if I did believe in a god, it would be their version. I still enjoy the ceremonies that I sometimes get to participate in.
While I don't believe in a higher power, I cannot completely dismiss the concept. I try and keep an open mind and if someone can show proof that I can logically accept, then I will consider their view.
Enough for now. Feel free to ask any questions you may have, and I will answer all that I can. Just be sure you want the answer before you ask.:)
