Great illusion showing the mind's changing reference frames. To alter the rotation direction look at the bottom foot's shadow. And somewhat harder to see, a back and forth motion while she faces you. Hardest, for me anyhow, was a consistently back and forth while facing away from me. Failure on my part to hold a back and forth motion demonstrates that without considerable effort I usually see what the computer mind presents. Amazing.
My wife said the computer changes the direction of the ballerina at odd times. From clockwise to counter clockwise. Was tough to convince her otherwise.
The site is full of excellent illusions and offers a widget to display on my Google personal homepage a daily illusion. Epileptics beware! Some really screw with your head. I have no tendencies and still must turn off the flashing movement illusions presented deeper in the site.
