"You're an atheist.. Give me a fucking break"

Oh, and her big threat, "Then you won't get anything for Christmas!" LOL

I can see it now. The Atheist son says he believes in God. Mom says he'll get stuff for Christmas till he stops.

My mom was pretty much the video mom. Inside I stayed free and continued getting stuff. This avoided a lot of hassle. 'Course, when able, I got out. I knew there was no changing her mind. I was not that attached to an outward display of doubt. When in Rome.......

Um...excuse me? I think I established in another thread that, yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

I'd like you to respect my beliefs please.

The biggest brain fuck is getting Ordained (like me) -- but, as soon as anyone tries to say anything like nasty, etc.. You pull out your trump card and say:

I am an ordained Minister! How DARE you insult the religious beliefs of a member of the clergy!

Ahh.. I love being a member of the Clergy :)

Wonder if The Church of Gospel Ministry in Chula Vista, CA is still in business. That cost me $15 in the early '70s.

Uh oh. The First Church of Gospel Ministry is in Wooster, Ohio. I like banjo music. Trick web site. They don't like Kenny Copeland and the TV ministers, but, holy cow, now the price is $39.50 and you have to give them a lot more than when they were advertising in Popular Science.
