I'm Janice Rael. You can call me Stopper or ELGS. You can google me to learn more about me or to just stalk me. I'm an atheist who is not "against religion" but who is dedicated to educating people about atheism.

I'll be mostly a lurker here, as I am on most message boards. But I wanted to say hi.

But, gnawed has some of the nicest, kindest, and smartest people on it!

We at gnawed at non-speciest (we accept all creatures that can type... cats, dogs, monkeys, evolutionary missing-links, etc.), and, have a really cool Blog (http://gnawed.com/blog.php) feature!

Oh, and our smilies are, well, let's just say.. Really cool... :congrats:

lol, no, it's not quite a place where there's any interest in godstopping, that's all! (Not really activism/atheism-oriented, I mean.) The people there are nice... and very devoted to smilies.

I'm looking forward to getting more involved here, after the AAI Convention!

Thanks! But alas, I am no longer quite the activist I once was, having recently resigned from all of my nonbelief groups due to lack of time and inability to travel.

I still lurk, though. :)

Well, phrog, it is doubtful that I will see any stage again any time soon. The fact is, I am really unable to afford the travel costs on my own, and in-person participation is a requirement for most Board members of most groups.

The older my kids get, the more I have to drive them around, and the less time I have for groups, writing, and activism. So I am retired, now, for the next few years at least. I'm still emailing my elected officials on a regular basis, and I'm still following atheist news, but I'm not promoting any groups or posting any action alerts or announcements.

I do recommend that if you can afford it, please join and support as many nonbelief groups as you can; your membership dollars support their activities and educational outreach.

And phrog, if you ever come out to the Philadelphia area, we must find a way to meet. Hopefully, my kids won't have sports that day. ;)
