Hello, hello. I'm Lorry and I'm an atheist in Denmark. I'm from Florida and Minnesota, and I expatriated a few months ago to be with my Danish husband. I just made myself Organizer for the Atheist Meetup in Copenhagen, and I also run the American Expat Meetup and Barefooters Meetup.

I was raised in a strong Methodist family, and after many years of studying other religions and expecting one of them to be better, I came to the conclusion that it was all basically the same crap and I didn't need any of it.

I have two cats, I like to cook, I don't wear shoes, I have hairy pits, I'm purposely unemployed, I'm certified to be Apple repair technician, and the floor in my living room is made of tetrominos.

How's that for an introduction? :D I look forward to getting to know all of you here.

Hello there. Welcome! I'm picturing the tetromino floors, very intriguing idea! Hope you enjoy your stay there in Denmark. :D

Hi Lorry! Wow, you've been busy--just a few months in the country and you're already organizing three groups. Aside from the usual homesickness are you loving Copenhagen? Welcome to gnawed!
Best,

I admire any who can get cats to lay a floor.:congrats: Welcome. Spent a bit at your site. Did I spy the Minneapolis bridge that collapsed? The little smilie thing is about the limit of my graphics prowess.

Hey, welcome. How I'd love to expatriate to Denmark! If my wife's health were a bit better we'd be there. Alas, we'll have to live vicariously through you.

Love the floor!

Welcome Lorry!! Tetrominos....puzzling isn't it? When the rows line up do they disappear? OK...dumb joke, but I'm glad you made it here.

Thanks! Homesick schmomesick, I'm loving it! It's a bit annoying that my Danish still sucks, but it's getting better. Other than not being to rent movies without checking if English subtitles are available, life's pretty darn good.

Did I spy the Minneapolis bridge that collapsed?
Pretty good chance of that. I crossed that bridge as a passenger a million times while I was in grad school.

If my wife's health were a bit better we'd be there.
Aww :( And health care is free here! If only there were teleporters.

When the rows line up do they disappear?
We intentionally made the design "too big" so it runs off beyond the walls. That way we'll never find out. :D

Welcome Lorry. We have something in common; I'm also from Minnesota and Florida. Born and raised in St. Paul, lived in Mpls. most of my adult life until moving to FL in 1986. Now spend summers in Michigan and winters in FL. I had never heard of Tetromino floors before, but it looks great. I've never been to the Scandinavian countries, or Europe for that matter, but sure would like to. My heritage is Norwegian.http://www.smileycons.com/img/emotions/91.gif

I did the reverse, moving from Florida (Panama City) to Minnesota (St. Cloud, Minneapolis, and then St. Paul). I think the move southward is more accepted, because everyone seemed to think I was crazy.

A friend of mine has a theory that everyone who's ever lived in St. Paul and leaved, will eventually come back. What do you think? There's a lot I like about St. Paul but I'm not so sure. I was in Highland, by the way, and I worked in Roseville.
